A Personal Message from Dr. Julie Oswald
Thank you for considering Blue Run Veterinary Wellness Services. I’m Dr. Julie Oswald, and I’m honored to support you in being proactive about your pet’s health. Much like caring for your own health, taking a proactive approach to your pet’s wellness can significantly enhance their quality of life and increase the time you get to share together.
I believe pets, like people, deserve nutritious food, regular exercise, and the right care when experiencing pain or discomfort. I founded this practice because I’m deeply passionate about providing exceptional, holistic care for animals, and I’m excited to partner with you in your pet’s health journey.
Acupuncture
Pain is the most common indication for acupuncture. Usually this is pain associated with arthritis; however other types of pain that may respond include muscle strains, pain secondary to disc disease, cancer pain and more. Functional conditions such as constipation and cystitis in cats and irritable bowel type problems in dogs may also respond. There are a variety of dermatological conditions that also may benefit from acupuncture.
Herbal Medicine & Nutrition
Our pets have individual nutritional needs beyond what their regular diet can provide. The relationship between food and a healthy body are more important now than ever before. Healthy eating is essential for both preventing illness and recovering from disease. Nutrition and herbs can be tailored to your pet based on their age, activity level, internal and external environments and overall health status.
End of Life Care
Veterinary hospice is dedicated to maintaining comfort and the best quality of life for the geriatric or terminally ill pet until the family elects for a peaceful death through euthanasia or natural death. With this type of care, the focus is on the comfort of your pet rather than a cure for their disease. This type of care is often appropriate for incurable illness or if further investigations or treatments have been declined by the pet owner in the place of comfort based care.
